WATER: The headquarters has water from the town of Springer for the houses. There are 2 domestic pumps that supply water to the horse facilities. These wells can also be used for the houses. The south end of the ranch has 3 water wells. One well is equipped with a electric submersible pump which feeds into a large steel drinker. The other two wells have solar pumps and drinkers. There is a pipeline which pumps water from the south well to the shipping pens and to another drinker about a ½ mile away. There is a developed spring which fills a drinker with a solar pump. There are several other seasonal springs on the ranch. Also there are several dirt tanks that catch rain water. The Cimarron river runs through the north end of the ranch and is used to water the livestock. Irrigation Water: The ranch has about 90 acres of land that is flood irrigated pasture. Water is from the Springer Ditch Association. The ranch has 226.4 water shares on the Springer Ditch. Annual cost is approximately $8. per share. WILDLIFE: In a typical year the ranch receives 9 buck and 3 doe Antelope hunting permits. It also receives 1 bull and cow elk permits. There are also mule deer, white tail deer, turkey, Canadian geese, ducks, and doves. ELEVATION: The ranch ranges from 5715 to 6079 feet. VEGETATION: Black Grama, blue stem, lambs quarters, kosha, sage, and others. It has good native grass turf with some pinon / juniper trees. TERRAIN: The ranch is rolling open plains to rolling open hills sloping down to the river area. TAXES: Estimated at $8,468. for 2017. STATE LAND LEASE: Annual state land grazing fee is approximately $347.83 FENCES: There is approximately 22 miles of fence.
